I'm a single Mom who didn't start running until I was 39. I signed up to do the San Diego Rock'n'Roll Marathon in the year 2000 with Team in Training and have been hooked ever since. I like to write (most of the time) and I like to run (most of the time) so maybe if I write about running I'll be motivated to do more of both. Whether writing or running, I don't take myself too seriously. I usually write about the humorous ups and downs of life.

I probably did less running in December than any other months in the past 10 years combined.  Yes...I did at least 1,000,000 miles of not running.  I'm probably more prepared and in better shape not to run than I have ever been in my life....

I don't know about the rest of you, but Winter and I are not friends.  I do not like his dark frigidity and the way he blows in my face.  How rude!  Just to show him he cannot intimidate me, I sign up for a race every January.  In the past these have been races in places which are a bit nicer than Colorado Winter...  Like Florida Winter or Arizona Winter.  But this morning, I'm running a local race...the Lafayette Oatmeal Festival's Quicker Quaker 5K.
